Oslo – a woollen bed cover
Our Oslo bed cover is one of our most popular products. Its wool knit fabric has delicate transverse stripes that look like tiny braids in a sweater weave pattern and make the cover look thick and fluffy.
Wool and its most important features
Wool is a unique material. It warms us up, while being resistant to high temperatures itself. This is due to the the structure of the wool fibres, which trap a lot of air within, making it warm. In addition, properly processed and woven wool is not itchy and is pleasant to the touch. That is why so many home decor accessories use it, giving designs a cozy look.
How to care for woollen bed covers?
The woollen bed cover must be dry cleaned. Woollen fabrics can be damaged if washed in a washing machine, change their shape and lose their aesthetic appeal. Fortunately, wool is dirt-resistant and there is no need for frequent cleaning, which makes it a very practical choice.
How is the Oslo bed cover different from our other products?
Oslo differs from our other bed covers, primarily in that it was sewn with four pieces of fabric of different textures, laid perpendicular to each other. The weave is intertwined, half running vertically, half running horizontally. This creates an unusual, geometric and original pattern.
The design of the Oslo bed cover is very simple and will suit any interior. Depending on other accessories, it blends in perfectly with modern, Scandinavian or boho styles. Our range includes cushions of the same design, but you could just as well combine it with other elements from different collections. The cover is made of grey wool, which provides an excellent base for decorating any bedroom.
Material and usage
This model of bed cover made of Polish wool is available in two sizes: 250x250 cm and 220x220 cm. The woollen knitwear used to make the cover looks like handmade.
A bed cover 250x250 cm size will cover every bed, even the largest one. For a bed 180x200 cm, the cover overhangs about 35 cm on each side and for a bed 160 cm wide – 45 cm.
The 250x250 Oslo differs from the 220x220 version because it features a square patch in the middle that allows such a large size to be obtained.
The Oslo bed cover has a very intriguing arrangement of wool fleece on individual elements that create a unique pattern.
The smaller 220x220 cm cover will be suitable for smaller double or single beds or for regular or part of corner sofas.
The smaller cover consists of four elements arranged perpendicularly to each other.
How to wash woollen fabrics?
Fabrics made of natural wool require special care.
They should not be washed in water, but dry-cleaned. They should not be ironed and any creases should be left as they are until they flatten naturally. Steam ironing is allowed, but only from a larger distance.
In order for woollen products to keep their shape, they need to be dried laid out flat. Tumble drying, using bleaches or stain removers is not allowed.
Incorrect washing can cause wool to change its original shape and felt, resulting in the product losing its attractive appearance.
All lovers of our woollen products should know that at the beginning wool can leave tiny fibres of fleece on other textiles, such as smooth bedding, giving them a slightly hairy look. This is why woollen bed covers should be placed directly on the bed and not on the bedding. After some time, the phenomenon stops and it should rather be considered one of the charms of natural woollen products. If this property of wool is not convenient for you, we recommend that you check our other products made of blends of cotton and other fibres.
